[Post Game Thread] The Minnesota Timberwolves (19-21) blow out the Los Angeles Lakers (21-19) 108-86 behind Andrew Wiggins's 28pts/5reb/2ast and Karl-Anthony Towns's 28pts/19reb/3ast/2stl/4blk.

Hell yeah, it's like LeBron wasn't even there
[–]Bucks vkytdjtfgkj 59 points 3 hours ago
Come on, it's fair though. You guys didn't have Derrick Rose either.
No MVP for the Lakers, no MVP for the Twolves
[–]Timberwolves chromeelephant 12 points 3 hours ago
Heck we could've scored 150 like you guys if he was playing
[–]Timberwolves minneapolisboy 26 points 3 hours ago
No Covington either.
[–]Lakers Jahhaps 462 points 3 hours ago
We literally look like a G-league team without him...it’s depressing
[–][CLE] LeBron James Motherfuckin_Jones 11 points 2 hours ago
Get used to that
[–]Timberwolves chromeelephant 154 points 3 hours ago
Not having LeBron or Rondo certainly doesn't help with anything, especially being a really young team by-and-large
[–][LAL] Kobe Bryant fastlikeanascar 29 points 3 hours ago
That shouldnt be an excuse because these young players were all playing way better last season.
[–]Timberwolves chromeelephant 8 points 3 hours ago
What do you think is the issue? I know a lot of people are calling for Walton to be gone
[–][LAL] Brandon Ingram kristuhfur 34 points 3 hours ago
We had Randle and Lopez who were key players to our overall game. Lopez would stretch the floor giving Ingram room to attack the basket or dish it out. The team forgot how to play together because they became so reliant on Lebron.
[–]Lakers Jahhaps 54 points 3 hours ago
Well of course, but it’s just frustrating watching them make the same mistakes every single night.
Also slowly falling closer to 60% FT shooting every game is pathetic as an NBA team (though lebron contributes to that when he’s healthy)
[–]special_k88 104 points 3 hours ago
The nuggets have one of the youngest teams in the league...
[–]desnrown 642 points 4 hours ago
Thibs is insane for playing his starters that long in a blowout
[–]Raptors KawhiDidNothingWrong 37 points 4 hours ago
Wanted to let KAT pad his stats a little
[–][MIN] Karl-Anthony Towns KANYE----WEST 15 points 3 hours ago
Yeah as bad as it was I think KAT wanted to go back in to get some sexy stats
[–][MIN] Derrick Rose Infin1tySlay3r[S] 21 points 3 hours ago
Thibs is going to take years off the careers of half our players
[–]Timberwolves chromeelephant 21 points 4 hours ago
Still better than 43 minutes a game like last year
[–]Hawks MikeFcTV 169 points 4 hours ago
He does it every blowout, go look at the boxscore their last game, up 20 and towns started and played the entire 4th quarter minus the final 2 minutes
[–]Lakers Jahhaps 72 points 3 hours ago
This is a known thing for thibs and I will never understand having your starters with 3 min left in the 4th, you’re up 27, and your opponent is playing their garbage minutes for the last 6 minutes of the game
[–]fuk_ur_mum_m8 46 points 3 hours ago
He's got money on the over 21 points margin
[–]Supersonics Ok_Maize 604 points 3 hours ago
I can't believe he still has a job. It's a joke.
[–]mkramer4 46 points 2 hours ago
Comment aged well lmfao
[–]Heat youweaklings 66 points 2 hours ago
Damn, Glen Taylor probably saw your comment
[–]Timberwolves Avocado_Ice_Cream 407 points 2 hours ago
I’m just going to assume this is the comment that got him fired, so thanks for this
[–]Timberwolves Dogemaster666 65 points 2 hours ago
Thank you. Thank you.
[–]Timberwolves eggyolkeo 37 points 4 hours ago
I'm so glad Teague is back
[–]Timberwolves KATgonnaGetThatYarn 12 points 4 hours ago
I love having a deep bench, and being able to have really solid players step in when we have injuries. Tolliver was solid.
[–]Timberwolves twh1297 104 points 4 hours ago
I just think that we, as a nation, need to get KAT more All-Star votes.
[–]Timberwolves VoidPineapple 22 points 4 hours ago
Fewer votes than Demarcus Cousins btw.
[–]Orange Spartan 17 points 4 hours ago
Karl Anthony "not an all star" Towns
[–]Trail Blazers MoDollazz 37 points 4 hours ago
Towns has been on another level recently
[–]Timberwolves revohitta 42 points 4 hours ago
25 in the first half , 3 points in the second....
A win is a win tho
[–]Timberwolves Tamperthisdick 17 points 4 hours ago
tom thibs is the coach tho so wiggins was fucking tired
[–]Timberwolves Theweezo 21 points 3 hours ago
He played like 20 game minutes straight and was clearly gassed. Thibs minute management is ridiculous.
[–][LAL] Kyle Kuzma JoshTheLakerFan 37 points 4 hours ago
[–]Lakers Skorua 21 points 4 hours ago
[–]Lakers tree_D 26 points 4 hours ago
Tough game to watch
[–]rolecansom 62 points 4 hours ago
Lonzo had a monster game
[–]ryu1337 492 points 4 hours ago
What a great game by L0nz0 Ball. He scored the same amount of points as the Lakers two scoring leaders Kyle Kuzma and LeBron James combined.
[–]Warriors BillyBean11111 108 points 3 hours ago
LOL 0 points again vs a sub .500 team.
Way to step up in the absence of your stars there Zo.
[–][GSW] Andre Iguodala TheTripleDeke 61 points 3 hours ago
Lmao gotta feel bad for the kid but he cannot shoot in a league where shooting is at its peak. It blows my mind looking at his mechanics and how there was no intervention growing up.
[–]Lakers Death_Wisher 35 points 2 hours ago
He absolutely fucking sucks. He seriously needs to get demoted and figure out how to make a layup and shoot a free throw before ever even thinking of coming back. Lakers sub full of mental gymnasts trying to defend him. "But but he does everything else so well!".
I mean who gives a fuck if he literally cannot perform the most basic fundamental of the game. It's like having a 3rd baseman who can catch, throw, and run but literally can't hit a fastball. I mean, you just wouldn't play in the majors at that point. Period. Except in lonzos case, he can't even hit an underhanded softball.
[–]Knicks EndQuick 46 points 3 hours ago
But he's only 21!!!! Give him some time!! /s
[–]Knicks Jimm120 10 points 3 hours ago
hey hey...us knicks fans can't talk shit considering we picked Frank in that same draft and so many of us say the same thing about frank (give him time, he's only 18+2)
[–]Cavaliers mrbananathe3rd 108 points 3 hours ago
-21 you mean, but ur right he’ll need time ha
[–]Moist Background 92 points 4 hours ago
At least Lonzo plays Elite Defense
[–]Raptors JustAntherAlt 16 points 3 hours ago
LoNzo BaLL iS thE NeXt MaGIc HiS CoRt VisIoN iS ELiTe
[–]Celtics JedH44 137 points 4 hours ago
Lonzo is weird, man.
[–]Spurs Yo_Gabba_Gabbert 55 points 3 hours ago
That's a diplomatic way of putting it. He had zero points in 22 minutes.
[–]Wizards DueStrawberry3 27 points 4 hours ago
bad you mean
[–][LAL] Caron Butler porkupine100 117 points 4 hours ago
He really seems like he just plays basketball because he can and not because he really wants too. Reminds me of Bynum with the complete lack of fucks given
[–]Lakers c_double_u 73 points 4 hours ago
Just seems like he doesn't have the edge to try and get his game to the next level. I want to see him play angry, show some emotion. When he plays poorly (which is pretty often these days...), he just looks like a kid with no confidence playing basketball with his older brothers friends.
[–]Kings jennys0 12 points 3 hours ago
His better games come against the Kings because of DeAaron.. it almost seems like he has a motivation problem.
[–]Lakers darklord0530 250 points 5 hours ago
So guys Zion or RJ Barrett?
[–][TOR] Pascal Siakam Serah_Null 30 points 5 hours ago
Imagine having to guard the paint when the opposing team has Zion and LeBron.
[–]LBJ GaveMeAnalProlaps 294 points 5 hours ago
Whichever one is more likely to be overhyped and subsequently bust
[–][LAL] Brandon Ingram friskydongo 180 points 5 hours ago
Wow the Lakers are signing my dick then
[–]Decentertainment 331 points 4 hours ago
The 2 best players from the Lakers half decade rebuilding period... play for the Nets and Pelicans respectively. Yikes
[–][TOR] OG Anunoby IamSofakingRAW 18 points 4 hours ago
“Josh Hart is officially better than D’angelo Russell”
[–]Pioneer 2005 104 points 3 hours ago
It seems to me that this is on Magic. He constructed a trash roster for you guys. Yes he got Lebron, but what else? He got rid of DLo and Randle. They are better than any other non- Lebron player you have now. He drafted Lonzo #2, and over hyped Lonzo, basically guaranteeing failure. He didn't trade all of your " young core" for a star. That core is a bunch of role players. Those are easy to come by. If yall don't get AD, this team will be mediocre for the next 6 years minimum
[–]Raptors kalebdabomb 72 points 4 hours ago
1-5 without Lebron lmao
[–]Lakers Legendver2 59 points 3 hours ago
So we wasted Lebron's 3rd prime lol
[–]Nuggets TheThingsIdoatNight 11 points an hour ago
He did that to himself, he saw what you had and still went there.
Also imo this is his 4th prime
[–]Jazz racast5 83 points 3 hours ago
Everyone who says this is missing the point entirely. The point wasn't to put together a contender this year. It was to clear space for a max contract in the big FA market next year and develop young players trade value so that they could be packaged for a third star.
[–]Lakers jonsnowKITN 172 points 4 hours ago
Lakers are definitely gonna be out of the top 8 until Lebron comes back.
[–]Knicks EndQuick 24 points 4 hours ago
Fuck it. LeBron should let the Lakers fall to the 14th seed before bringing them back to a top 4 finish and win MVP in his 16th season
[–]Lakers dkdanikukra 16 points 4 hours ago
This team without Lebron is so disappointing. Lonzo can't make FT's, can't make layups, like WTF how do you come up short 3 feet from the basket?? Ingram misses jumper after jumper.. our best looking player has been KCP. All these dudes get paid millions and can't even show up for one game. ffs.
[–]NBA RareSir 35 points 4 hours ago*
The worst part is that they are currently in the midst of a winnable stretch of games. These are the games to win in order to help secure a playoff seed. But without LeBron, Kuzma, and Rondo, they are losing gimmies like the Knicks game
[–]NBA ChiefJustiseWinslow 61 points 4 hours ago
February road trip looks brutal.
[–]Jazz Sum_Bitch 31 points 4 hours ago
WE COMIN FOR YA!
[–]Lakers LABiH 122 points 5 hours ago*
Not only is he a horrible coach, but tonight's game showed that Luke Walton has completely lost the Lakers locker-room.
We're gonna lose tomorrow, so I'm calling it now: he'll get fired as soon as he lands in LA.
EDIT: Let me be clear. Firing Luke Walton will not be enough. They literally have to fire all assistant coaches and everyone that came in contact with him. We've seen NOTHING but nepotistic shit (him and his Arizona buddies) going on for years now on that level.
EDIT 2: I'm also willing to bet my life savings that both Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram will NOT be this bad under a different (better) coach. Just get a proven coach that knows his shit and will not be afraid to say no and hold people accountable. No more cuddling with players!
[–]gentyent 50 points 5 hours ago
And somehow LeBron will be blamed for the firing
[–]youarentcleverkiddo 26 points 5 hours ago
Wow what a coach killer. He literally made everyone else play bad while being injured.
[–]Lakers sikest 15 points 5 hours ago
who replaces him?
[–][TOR] Zan Tabak chicogarciamarquez 78 points 5 hours ago
Lakers legend Tyron Lue is available
[–]Hawks AsheliaDalmasca4096 6 points 5 hours ago
Lebron and Ty Lue sharing a glass of wine as we speak.
[–]Lakers tree_D 15 points 5 hours ago
He doesn't have to get fired in my opinion. We're just barely a play off team so that means we'll have streaks like this where we just fall flat. We need two more solid players or one top 10 player to consistently win.
